A landowner, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as an intermediary between geological exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landowner’s job is to negotiate and conclude contracts with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent. Essentially, they manage the land and secure their lease so they can drill for oil and gas. As a foreman on a construction site, they build roads, housing for workers (a camp for people), oversee the assembly of earthmoving equipment, and the drilling of the well itself, especially in remote areas. They are also partially recognized as fixers, problem solvers, and mediators.. Featured on CBS News Sunday Morning: Episode #44.24 (2022). It would be easy to rate it at 8.5 – 9. If it weren’t for the sexualized daughter and ex-wife/mother. They serve no plot purpose and are simply annoying and insulting to the women of West Texas. I’m from far West Texas, so I understand where Sheridan is coming from in a way, but it’s horrible. West Texas women are the strongest and most ambitious women I know. Now, on top of that, the writing and acting are amazing. Sheridan could easily have another Yellowstone on her hands if she got rid of a very uncomfortable intermarriage lust. But then again, I like Sheridan’s writing (and acting) a little bit, and it’s a very enjoyable show, for the most part.
